School Zones are for Kids!
Students at Janet Metcalfe P.S. designed a set of yard signs to take back their school zone from drivers so they could experience welcoming and safe arrival and dismissal times. Then, they shared them across Waterloo region.
Caregivers often site school zones as the most dangerous part of their walking route to school.
Even students who are driven must navigate school zones on foot.
When it’s safe for children, it’ll be safe for everyone. Drivers can park a distance away and use our Drive to 5 maps.
