Crossing Guard Appreciation Drawing Contest

We hope you’ll participate in the Ontario Traffic Council’s School Crossing Guard Appreciation Drawing Contest.

Your art could be featured across Ontario during Crossing Guard Appreciation Week, June 2nd to June 6th, 2025!

Contest Theme: Celebrating Our School Crossing Guards
Contest Opens: February 3, 2025
Contest Closes: March 31, 2025

Objective:
This contest aims to engage children aged 4 to 14 years in expressing their gratitude and appreciation for School Crossing Guards through art. The winning drawings will be featured on thank-you cards distributed during School Crossing Guard Appreciation Week.

How to Participate:

  • Each child may submit one drawing.
  • Submissions should be emailed to traffic@otc.org along with the child’s first name, age, school, municipality, and contact information.

As a bonus, Waterloo region students can cc us at stp@stswr.ca for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Michaels Arts and Crafts. 

Important Note to Parents/Guardians:
By cc’ing stp@stswr.ca, parents/guardians consent to their child’s artwork to also be featured in local area promotions related to School Crossing Guard Appreciation Week along with their first name and City or Town. All other STSWR Standard Contest Rules apply. 

Artwork Guidelines:
1. Size and Format:
• Drawings should be on an 8.5 x 11 inches paper.
• Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, or PDF.
2. Medium:
• Children are encouraged to use any drawing medium of their choice.
3. Theme Representation:
• Illustrate the theme “Celebrating Our School Crossing Guards” in a positive and appreciative manner.
4. Originality:
• Entries must be the original work of the participant.
5. Inclusivity:
• Encourage diversity and inclusion in the drawings, reflecting the different aspects of the community.
Submission Deadline:
All entries must be submitted by March 31, 2025 Late submissions will not be considered.
