School Bus Safety Week

School bus safety week runs from Monday, October 17 to Friday, October 21, 2016. School bus safety week provides an opportunity to talk to your kids about the rules of the road and school bus safety. Whether you have children traveling to school by bus, or are a motorist in a school zone, everyone benefits from an increased focus on road safety, obeying posted speed limits and carefully observing pedestrians.

Please be reminded to come to a complete stop while the flashing red lights and extended stop arm are out on a school bus. WRDSB and WCDSB schools will be posting this message on their social media and at their schools to pass the message to the community about stopping for school buses. Student safety is our #1 goal.

School Bus Driver Appreciation Day will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Parents and guardians are encouraged to recognize their school bus driver with a simple thank you or acknowledgement of a job well done.

Please join us in passing the message of school bus safety to the community!
